AD

Ever found yourself in a situation where you needed to resize a shape in Microsoft Visio, only to realize that the dimensions weren't quite right? You're not alone. Visio, while powerful, can sometimes be a bit tricky when it comes to adjusting shape sizes. But fear not, with a little understanding and the right techniques, you'll be changing shape dimensions like a pro in no time.

Before we dive into the specifics, let's quickly cover why understanding how to change shape dimensions is crucial. In Visio, shapes are the building blocks of your diagrams. Whether you're creating a flowchart, a network diagram, or a floor plan, having control over shape dimensions ensures your visuals are accurate, balanced, and easy to understand.

Changing Shape Dimensions Manually

For simple adjustments, manual resizing is often the quickest way to change shape dimensions in Visio.

Changing Shape Dimensions with Aspect Ratio Locking

Sometimes, you might want to resize a shape while maintaining its aspect ratio. This is particularly useful when you want to ensure a shape doesn't get distorted as you change its size.

Here's how to do it:
