Plant Disease Journal: Author Guidelines
Welcome to the Plant Disease Journal, a leading publication dedicated to advancing our understanding of plant diseases and their management. If you're interested in submitting your research to our journal, we've prepared these author guidelines to help you navigate the process.
Before you begin, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the scope and aims of the Plant Disease Journal. We welcome submissions that report original research on any aspect of plant diseases, including but not limited to, plant pathology, plant-microbe interactions, and disease management strategies.
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word or LaTeX and should not exceed 40 pages (including figures and tables) in length. Use double-spaced, single-column format with 1-inch margins on all sides.
Please ensure that your manuscript is written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. We recommend using a professional editing service if English is not your first language.
Title and Abstract
The title should be concise and informative, reflecting the main findings of your research. The abstract should summarize the main findings, methods, and implications of your study in no more than 300 words.
Use the following format for the title page: title, authors' names and affiliations, corresponding author's contact information, and a running head (a shortened version of the title).
Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion
Organize your manuscript into these four sections. The Introduction should provide background information and state the objectives of your study. The Materials and Methods section should describe the experimental design and procedures in sufficient detail to allow replication by other researchers.
The Results section should present your data in a clear and concise manner, using tables and figures as appropriate. The Discussion should interpret your results in the context of the existing literature and suggest future research directions.
Submission Guidelines
Submit your manuscript electronically via our online submission system. Before submitting, please ensure that your manuscript complies with our formatting guidelines and that all authors have approved the final version.
We accept submissions on a rolling basis, and the review process typically takes 4-6 weeks. Please contact the editorial office if you have any questions about the submission process.
Ethics and Data Availability
All research involving plants must comply with relevant regulations and guidelines. Authors should declare any conflicts of interest and make their data available upon request.
We encourage authors to deposit their data in a public repository and to include a data availability statement in their manuscript.
References
Cite all relevant literature using the Citation Style Language (CSL) format. Use in-text citations and a reference list at the end of the manuscript. Ensure that all in-text citations appear in the reference list and vice versa.
We recommend using a reference management software like Mendeley or Zotero to help you format your references correctly.
We look forward to receiving your submission and appreciate your interest in the Plant Disease Journal. By following these guidelines, you'll help ensure a smooth and efficient review process. Happy writing!
