Symbolism of the Garden Wall

The garden wall represents the barrier between the familiar and the unknown. For Wirt and Greg, it symbolizes leaving their comfort zone and venturing into the mysterious Unknown. In a broader sense, it can represent the threshold between childhood and adulthood, or the fear of the unknown that we all face in life.

By overcoming this barrier, Wirt and Greg demonstrate their courage and determination to face their fears and find their way home.

The Dark and the Light

The "dark and the light" can be interpreted as the duality of experiences in life - the challenges and the triumphs, the fears and the joys. The Unknown represents the dark, while the light signifies the hope and guidance that helps them navigate through it.
