Natural Stone Fountain Ideas

Natural stone fountains exude a rustic charm, blending seamlessly with their surroundings. Here are two captivating ideas to inspire your project.

First, consider creating a stacked stone fountain. This design involves stacking flat stones on top of each other, with a basin at the bottom to collect water. You can use a pump to recirculate the water, creating a mesmerizing flow. For a unique touch, incorporate a solar-powered LED light to illuminate the fountain at night.

For a more intricate design, try building a tiered stone fountain. This involves stacking stones in decreasing sizes, creating multiple tiers for water to cascade down. You can use a larger basin at the bottom to collect water and pump it back to the top tier. Add some greenery around the fountain to enhance its natural appeal.

To create a tiered stone fountain, you'll need a variety of flat and round stones, a pump, tubing, and a drill with a masonry bit. Start by arranging the stones in your desired tiered pattern, then use mortar to secure them in place. Once dry, install the pump and tubing, ensuring water flows smoothly from the top to the bottom.

Repurposed Object Fountains

Give new life to old objects by transforming them into charming garden fountains. Here are two ingenious ideas to inspire your upcycling project.

First, consider turning an old wheelbarrow into a fountain. This whimsical design adds a touch of rustic charm to your garden. To create this fountain, drill a hole in the bottom of the wheelbarrow to accommodate the fountain pump. Place the pump inside the wheelbarrow and fill it with water. Arrange some stones or pebbles around the pump to create a base for the water to flow over.
