One of the most common types of fabric door covers is the curtain. Curtains can be hung from a rod or track system above the door and can be opened and closed as needed. They're perfect for adding a touch of elegance to your space and can be found in a wide range of materials, from lightweight cotton to heavy velvet.

Valances and Swags

Valances and swags are another popular fabric door covering option. These decorative treatments are typically hung from a rod or attached directly to the door and can add a touch of sophistication to your space. Valances are usually shorter and more structured, while swags are longer and more draped.

To create a cohesive look, consider choosing fabric door coverings that match or complement your existing window treatments. This will help to create a harmonious and well-designed space. Additionally, opt for fabrics that are easy to clean and maintain, as door coverings can be prone to wear and tear.

Door Skirts

Door skirts are a unique and stylish way to cover up a door. They're essentially a piece of fabric that hangs from the bottom of the door, creating the appearance of a skirt. Door skirts can be found in a variety of materials and can be customized to fit your specific door size.

To create a door skirt, you'll need to measure the width and height of your door, as well as the desired length of the skirt. Once you have your measurements, you can choose a fabric and create your skirt using basic sewing techniques. For a no-sew option, consider using a pre-made door skirt or a tension rod with a piece of fabric draped over it.

I picked these decorative screens up from The Range this weekend and knew exactly what to do with them. The windows in our downstairs WC don’t open but they’re also right next to the outdoor kitchen, so I needed to create some kind of privacy, whilst still allowing light in. I thought about mounting them onto wooden frames allowing them to be opened and closed but opted to just hang them from a wooden baton for ease as it’s really easy to pop them on and off and the only time I’ll take them off is to clean the windows. I am thrilled with how they look in this room, let me know if you like this idea and don’t forget to save and share if you’re feeling inspired. 😘 | I am Hayley Stuart | Facebook
